Community Housing Network (CHN) is leading the development of a new 30-unit senior housing community in St. Ignace, MI, with SMG Development serving as the place-making and emerging development partner. This thoughtfully planned project will deliver safe, affordable, and accessible homes for older adults in the heart of the city.

Located near downtown and adjacent to a medical clinic, the development will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments designed to meet USDA Rural Development and HUD standards. On-site amenities will include a community room, laundry, indoor mail delivery, and off-street parking, with coordinated supportive services provided by regional partners.

SMG Development is supporting site acquisition, community engagement, and local coordination to align the project with broader place-making and workforce housing goals in Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula.
